The Quote — What Drives a Custom Cover's Price

Custom Pool Safety Covers in Orange Village, OH

Custom in-ground pool safety covers for Orange Village — and a straight account of what a quote actually turns on, since we will not print a figure we cannot stand behind. Family-owned since 2012.

We Will Not Invent One

Why There Is No Number on This Page

You came here wanting a price. We are not going to invent one, and here is the reasoning rather than a shrug.

A custom cover is manufactured to one pool. Not to a size band, not to a nearest-fit rectangle — to the outline your pool actually has, with the anchor positions your deck actually allows. Two pools that hold the same water can be materially different jobs.

So any figure we published would be a number for a pool that is not yours, and you would find that out at the quote. That is a worse experience than reading this paragraph.

What we can do is tell you exactly what the quote turns on, so nothing in it is a surprise and you can see which parts you have any say over.

Size, Shape, Fabric, Anchors

The Six Things That Move the Number

1. Size

The obvious one, and it is the surface area of the cover rather than the volume of the pool. A shallow pool and a deep one of the same footprint need the same amount of fabric.

2. Shape

A rectangle is the simplest shape to make, because the panels are simple and the seams are straight — so it is the shape everything else is priced against.

Every departure from that adds work: curves, a freeform outline, steps, a beach entry, a raised wall, a corner that is not square. The cover is fabricated from panels welded together, and an irregular outline means more panels, more seams and more cutting.

3. Fabric

Mesh and solid are different materials at different prices, and within each there are grades. That is a genuine choice you are making rather than a tier you are being sold into — and it turns on debris, winter light and whether you want a cover pump to look after, not only on cost. The comparison is on the pool safety covers hub.

4. The anchors: how many, and into what

Anchor count follows the perimeter and the layout. A longer or more complex perimeter needs more of them.

And what your deck is made of changes the work. Sound poured concrete is the straightforward case; pavers, natural stone, timber and a planted surround each need a different approach, and one of them needs a fixing point creating where none exists. That is set out on anchors and decks in Pepper Pike.

5. What is in the way

Obstructions inside the anchor line are design work. Handrail and ladder sockets, a light niche in the coping, a diving board base, a planting bed tight to the edge, a deck that narrows at one end — each has to be resolved in the layout, and resolving them is part of what you are paying for.

6. Whether it is a replacement

A replacement can be cheaper or more expensive than a first fit, and which one is not obvious until someone looks:

Cheaper, where the existing anchor line is sound, complete and correctly positioned, so most of it can be reused and there is less drilling.

More expensive, where anchors are seized or corroded, where the deck has been altered since, or where the original layout was wrong and repeating it would repeat the problem.

That survey is the subject of replacements in Macedonia.

Not Travel, Not the Season

What Does Not Change the Number

Worth saying, because it saves people worrying about the wrong things.

Our travel to you — we do not price by distance, and reach varies by service type and season rather than by a published radius.

The season you ask in. What autumn changes is availability rather than price: a cover is made to order, so a measure taken in August sits in a very different queue from one taken in the second week of October. Book earlier than feels necessary.

Measured, Then Written

What Happens at the Quote

01

Someone comes out and measures the pool

The shape at multiple points, the deck and its slope, everything inside the anchor line, and where the straps can physically land. That visit is what turns six variables into one figure. The full account of what a measure records is on our covers in Twinsburg page, and the install detail is on safety cover installation.

02

The price that applies to your job is the one on your written estimate

Not one from a website. That is true of everything we do, and it is in the terms.

03

And where a cover and a close are going to happen together

The close has a published starting price — from $495 plus chemicals, itemised. See pool closing service.

A Barrier, Fully Fastened

It Is a Safety Device, Not a Substitute for Supervision

A safety cover installed to the manufacturer's instructions and fully fastened is a barrier. It is not a reason to stop watching. No cover replaces supervision of children and pets around water, and a cover that is only half on is a hazard rather than a barrier.

A Measure Turns It Into a Number

Orange Village Pool Needing a Cover?

A measure visit turns all of the above into an actual number.

Cuyahoga County, 8 Miles Out

Custom Only, Which Is Also Part of the Answer

Orange Village is in Cuyahoga County, about 8 miles from our base.

We install Merlin and GLI, made to your pool. We do not sell or fit stock or standard sizes — which is the reason a price cannot be published rather than a reluctance to publish one. A cover that fits is a cover that was made for one pool.

Pricing, Measuring and Quotes

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a custom pool safety cover cost?

We will not publish a figure, and the reason is not evasiveness: a custom cover is manufactured to one pool's outline with the anchor positions one deck allows, so any number here would be a price for a pool that is not yours. What this page does instead is set out exactly what a quote turns on, so nothing in it is a surprise.

What makes one cover more expensive than another?

Six things. Size, meaning surface area rather than water volume. Shape, since every curve, step and non-square corner adds panels and seams. Fabric, mesh or solid and the grade within each. The number of anchors and what your deck is made of. Obstructions inside the anchor line, each of which has to be designed around. And whether it is a replacement.

Is a replacement cheaper than a first cover?

It can be either. Cheaper where the existing anchor line is sound, complete and correctly positioned, because most of it can be reused and there is less drilling. More expensive where anchors are seized or corroded, the deck has been altered, or the original layout was wrong — repeating a bad layout just repeats the problem.

Do you charge more to come further?

No. We do not price by distance, and we do not publish a mile radius either — reach varies by service type and season rather than by a line on a map.

Is a cover cheaper if I order it out of season?

The price is not seasonal, but availability very much is. A cover is made to order, so a measure taken in August sits in a completely different queue from one taken in the second week of October. Book earlier than feels necessary — that is the real benefit of asking early.

Do you offer financing?

No. We accept credit card payment and we do not offer financing. The price that applies to your job is the one on your written estimate rather than anything from a website.
