Guides for in-ground pool owners in Northeast Ohio — written to answer the question before the quote, including the parts that argue against spending money. Family-owned since 2012.
M & G Pools services in-ground pools exclusively. We do not service, repair or supply equipment for above-ground pools, and we do not service hot tubs or spas.
Most of what pool owners ask us falls into three questions. So the guides are grouped by which one you are actually asking.

Grouped by the decision you are making, not the part it concerns.
For the decisions you make once and live with for years.

Where we can be specific we are, and where we cannot we explain what moves the number instead of inventing a range.

Brands we service is a list of what we service, not a list of anyone we represent — we make no authorization, dealership or certification claim for any manufacturer.
Pool Care Blog — Seasonal, shorter, and tied to what is actually happening to pools in Northeast Ohio that month. The guides above are reference pages you come back to; the blog is the running commentary.

Written against what is actually happening to pools here, month by month.

“The crew is super knowledgeable and courteous.”
That is what a visit is for.
Three rules, and they are why the guides read differently from most of what is online.
Where a figure depends on your pool, your gas rate or your plumbing, the guide explains what drives it rather than printing an average that will be wrong for you. That is less satisfying to read and considerably more useful.
Several of these guides talk you out of things — a heat pump for shoulder-season swimming, an exchanger on a tired heater, a patch on brittle vinyl, a retrofit on plumbing too narrow to benefit. A guide that only ever recommends buying is an advertisement.
We do not clean pools, we do not offer leak detection, we do not build pools, we do not run gas lines and we do not do electrical supply work. Those boundaries appear in the guides at the point where they matter rather than buried in a footer.
For what we do rather than what we write about, see services.

A number worth printing is one somebody measured.
Mostly yes, and deliberately. Season length, closing dates and freeze risk here are driven by distance from Lake Erie, and that changes the answer to questions like when to close, whether a heater is worth it and how long a cover is under load. A guide written for a national audience cannot tell you that.
Where a price is comparable, yes. Where it depends on your pool, your deck, your plumbing or your gas rate, the guide sets out what moves the number rather than printing an average that will not apply to you. We would rather be useful than tidy.
No, and the distinction matters. It is a list of equipment we repair and replace. We make no authorization, dealership or certification claim for any manufacturer, and manufacturer names on this site are used to describe the equipment we work on.
Tell us what the pool is doing. We will tell you what we think it is, and what it takes to put it right.
